Job Description

KCJ Training & Employment Solutions are currently working with a well-established and reputable software company
based in Bristol. Who is currently looking for a UI Designer looking for a new and exciting opportunity working as
their lead in-house UI Designer. Within this role you will be creating websites and mobile apps that are intuitive,
frictionless and based around integrated design solutions. As a UI Designer you will be responsible for running the
end to end design process, leading workshops with clients, and developing ideas for new concepts based on research
and business goals. You will be creating high quality concept designs from wireframes and UI tool kits for our Front-
End developers to bring to life in HTML component libraries.
For this particular position, our client will also consider a Junior UI Designer with around 2 years’ experience. For the
Junior position they are keen to find someone who is extremely passionate about IT and will be loyal and able to
grow with the company and brand.

Your daily tasks will include gathering /elicitation process and conducting stakeholder interviews. The Business
Analyst will be navigating the needs of several stakeholder groups as well as defining an end-to-end business process
that is accepted by all parties. You will be required to map out the epics, user stories and features for one or more
systems to support these processes and needs; creating process diagrams as well as wire framing and user journey
planning.
Your day to day duties will also include, performing feasibility analysis, scoping projects, and working with the
development team to prioritize deliverables, and negotiate on product functionalities as well as, creating detailed
Business Requirements Documentation (BRD) and translating it into user stories and information architecture
You will be required to conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) walk throughs, demonstrations in addition to
assisting with Functionality Testing. Creating and managing user stories in coordination with software development
teams and guiding the development team on a day to day basis with regard to the interpretation of user stories

The ideal candidate will have:
 Experience working as a UI Designer
 Experience of designing cross-disciplinary design fundamentals
 Experience of leading on design projects and creating design systems
 Confident with Visual-oriented design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe
 XD, Figma, Sketch, etc.)
 Graphic design and illustration experience
 Established portfolio of design projects, including web design
 Strong understanding of brand principles
 Passion for user interface design
 Excellent creative design skills
 Collaborative team worker
 Confident communicator
 Keen eye for detail

Desirable but not essential:
 Experience in pitching / pre-sales activities
 Similar experience in a web/software company
 Experience of working in an Agile environment
 Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite
 Animation or motion graphics knowledge
 Qualification in a relevant subject
