SURFACING ESTIMATOR – SWINDON

As a Surfacing Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering precise and competitive estimates for a range of surfacing projects.

This role is critical to the successful execution of projects such as road construction, pavement resurfacing, and asphalt laying.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Client Interaction: Establishing project requirements by effectively communicating with clients, preferably via phone.
• Cost Analysis: Conducting comprehensive cost analysis to determine accurate project costs, ensuring competitiveness during the bidding process.
• Estimation Preparation: Creating detailed project estimates using provided drawings and specifications.
• Collaboration with Suppliers and Contractors: Working closely with suppliers and contractors to secure competitive quotes and negotiate pricing to optimize project budgets.
• Pricing Negotiation: Ensuring competitive pricing for materials from approved suppliers.
• Project Documentation: Maintaining organized records of estimates, contracts, and project details for seamless communication and efficient project execution.
• Contract Review: Thoroughly reviewing contractual documents in collaboration with Quantity Surveyors.
• Project Coordination: Working closely with the project management team to refine estimates based on project changes and new information.
• Tender Follow-up: Timely follow-up on all submitted tenders.
• Pre-let Meetings: Participating in pre-let meetings alongside Quantity Surveyors and Contract Managers.
• Cost Optimization: Recommending cost-effective alternatives and value engineering options to enhance project efficiency.
• Operational Collaboration: Coordinating with the Operational Department regarding tonnages and any special requirements.
• On-site Meetings: Attending on-site meetings as required.
• Market Research: Staying current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
• Issue Resolution: Assisting Quantity Surveyors and operations with on-site issues and additional project requirements.
